What to Expect at Your First Visit to Our Clinic
We want your first visit to Westway Animal Clinic to be as seamless and enjoyable as possible for you and your pet. We are committed to paying full attention to their needs and yours, and providing every service with courtesy and respect.
When you and your pet first arrive, our team will greet you warmly and usher you both into an exam room as soon as one is available. We make it our priority to see every patient and client on time, and while we do have contingencies for emergencies, there may still be times when an unexpected medical case needs our attention and we experience a minor delay. Our team will do everything possible to minimize any delays as much as we are able.
During the Appointment
At the start of your pet’s appointment, you will first meet with one of our experienced veterinary technicians or assistants, who will ask questions about your pet to gather information about the reason for your visit. Depending on the nature of your pet’s visit, the technician may also check your pet’s pulse, respiration, and temperature. Following this initial check, your veterinarian will greet you and your pet and perform an examination. During the exam, they will be happy to answer any questions you have, and discuss any concerns you might have as well. If necessary, your veterinarian might recommend further diagnostics and treatment. Please know that we will not perform any test or prescribe a medication for your pet without discussing it with you at length first, so you understand what we are recommending and why.
If you need further information at the end of your pet’s appointment, one of our technicians can provide you with some educational resources to underline what was discussed, and if needed, schedule a follow-up appointment.
