Dr. Cortni Rees

Veterinarian

Dr. Cortni Rees was born and raised in Toronto and has never known a home without pets.  She has always had a special bond with animals and knew from a young age that she wanted to help them. After completing her undergraduate degree in biology at Queen’s University, Dr. Rees spent two weeks in a pre-veterinary program in Thailand working with rescued elephants, dogs and cats. She then spent a year as an animal care attendant at the Veterinary Emergency Clinic and Referral Center which solidified her passion for veterinary medicine.

Dr. Rees completed her didactic training at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the beautiful island of St. Kitts & Nevis. She then moved to the U.S. to complete her final year of clinical training at Louisiana State University. She has a strong interest in preventative medicine, ophthalmology, shelter medicine and small animal general practice.

When she is not working, Dr. Rees enjoys drawing, painting, baking, hot yoga, and more recently tennis and rock climbing. She currently has a “low-rider” dog named Darla adopted from St. Kitts.
