Pet Insurance
Pet health insurance can be a true lifesaver if your pet develops a chronic disease or experiences a medical emergency. With insurance, you can focus on meeting your pet’s most important healthcare needs without having to worry about costs.
While our clinic cannot fully endorse any one pet insurance company, there are a couple options we recommend researching to help you get started!
Trupanion is one of the most popular pet insurance providers around. It offers customizable insurance plans for pets of all ages and the option of a low monthly premium and no deductible.
The Ontario Pets Plus Us and Humane Society partner with Fetch by The Dodo to provide comprehensive pet insurance that covers a wide range of conditions (including breed-specific) and procedures.
Pet Oral Health
VOHC (Veterinary Oral Health Council) is an organization that approves a variety of excellent pet products aimed at controlling tartar and plaque buildup. These products range from kibbles and treats to toothpaste and food/water additives. Daily toothbrushing remains the gold standard for oral hygiene in dogs and cats. However, if brushing is not feasible despite attempts at introduction, VOHC recommends selecting products that effectively reduce both plaque and tartar. While some products in the same category may only target plaque or tartar, it's advisable to opt for those that address both issues if available. It's important to note that these products are not a substitute for comprehensive oral health assessments and treatments (COHAT), which involve dental cleaning and assessment under anesthesia.
Pet Nutrition
Westway Animal Clinic carries Purina and Hill’s food for dogs and cats. These are the highest quality brands in the industry, with products that are rigorously tested and formulated to be both highly palatable and highly nutritious for pets. We work with representatives of these brands to ensure our patients and clients have access to outstanding diets that keep pets healthy and provide therapeutic benefits for various health conditions as well.

Pet Microchipping
We use EIDAP microchips at our clinic. A microchip is permanent identification for your pet and must be registered under your name and contact information to be effective. Click below for more information about microchip identification and EIDAP.

With a library boasting over 10,000 pet health articles, you’re sure to find the topic you’re looking for, or at least stumble across something that is both interesting and applicable to your situation.
Pet Travel Documents
Traveling with your pet, be it domestically or internationally, can require a lot of planning. You need to allow yourself plenty of time for research, exam appointments for your pet, and preparation of paperwork.
